Keeping our Schools Safe: A Guide to Emergency Response

Dear Parents & Guardians,

Please know that the Tuxedo Union Free School District makes the safety of our students, staff and visitors in the buildings our number one priority. More than ever, safety readiness is a top priority for schools and communities.

To that end, the administration of the District works closely with local law enforcement officials, as well as regional law enforcement teams, and BOCES safety coordinators to ensure appropriate safety protocols are put into place and executed.  The staff and students at each school building have participated in a variety of safety drills and the District has a safety plan that is updated annually that includes security measures.

As part of our ongoing efforts to provide a safe school environment, enclosed is a pamphlet entitled, Keeping our Schools Safe: A Guide to Emergency Responses at the George Grant Mason School and George F. Baker High School.  Here you will find key information regarding preparedness, safety language, how you can help, and key contact information.

Our greatest responsibility is providing a safe and academically rich learning environment for our students.  Please know that the Tuxedo Union Free School District will continue to be ever-mindful of the need to put the safety of our students at the forefront of our decision-making.

Sincerely,

Tuxedo Union Free School District
