The following scholarships are available to George F. Baker High School Senior Class of 2018. Please click on the links to learn more about each scholarship. Read and carefully follow application instructions and note application deadlines.

 

Orange County Municipal Planning Federation Memorial Scholarship: An annual $1000.00 scholarship for a High School Senior who has been accepted to a college and is enrolled in a program. Curriculum that would satisfy this award is varied with applications that may lead to a career in planning. The award is for one year and each year a different candidate would be chosen. Applicants must be a resident of Orange County. Deadline: June 4, 2018


Association of School Business Officials:
 $500 scholarship awarded to a graduating senior from Orange County. Students must be in good academic standing, planning a post-secondary course study in the field of business, finance, and/or education and be in a Mid-Hudson ASBO member district whose business official is a member in good standing for the 17-18 school year. Deadline: Friday, March 2, 2018

Shepard Coleman Performing Arts Award: $1000 cash award is given to an Orange County resident to be applied toward the cost of furthering education in the performing arts. Minimum age is 16 years old. Applications must be postmarked by May 1, 2018.

Orange County Counselor's Association Scholarship: Four scholarships in the amount of $750 each to graduating seniors from participating high schools in Orange County. Two scholarships will be awarded to academic graduates, one to a CTEC graduate and one to a graduating special education student. Deadline: March 14, 2018

SUEZ/New York Chapter of the National Association of Water Companies (NAWC) Scholarship:  $3,000 scholarship to 5 NY high school seniors pursuing a degree related to the water utility industry field - It is being offered to all NY high school seniors who meet the following criteria: US citizen, a NY resident for 5 years, high school senior pursuing a degree at a college or university (2 or 4-year) as an undergraduate student (part or full-time), maintaining at least a 3.0 GPA, enrolling in a curriculum related to the water utility industry or related fields. Students should return the application by March 31, 2018.

The Al Romm Interdisciplinary Journalism Scholarship: 
$1,000.00 will be awarded to one graduating senior in Orange County.  The criteria and amount is predetermined pursuant to the donor’s instructions in the Scholarship Fund Agreement on file in your district. 

The Orange County Youth Football and Cheerleading Scholarship: $500 will be awarded to four graduating seniors in Orange County. The criteria and amount is predetermined pursuant to the donor’s instructions in the attached Scholarship Packet.  (Attached Scholarship Packet includes:  Criteria & Application)


The Ian Bennett/Situation Cares Memorial ScholarshipA $2,000.00 scholarship will be awarded to one graduating senior in Orange County.  The criteria and amount is predetermined pursuant to the donor’s instructions in the Scholarship Fund Agreement on file in your district.  Interested candidates for the Ian Bennett/Situation Cares Memorial Scholarship must submit their artwork, essay and application electronically to http://www.situationcares.org by no later than April 27, 2018.  Submissions sent directly to the Community Foundation office will not be considered. National Honor Society Scholarship: Scholarships for National Honor Society members.  


Fireman's Association of the State of New York: Applicants must be actively participating as a volunteer firefighter or junior firefighter or participating in a volunteer EMS program.

Excellence in Nursing Scholarship: To enter, you must be a senior at a high school in one of the following counties: Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Ulster or Westchester.

NYSIR Scholarship Program: Specifically developed to reward the efforts of special education students, seniors interested in design, and students who have demonstrated serious involvement in humanitarian activities.

Joyce A. Betros High School Senior Scholarship Program: Eligible applicants must be a TEG Federal Credit Union member or  have a parent/guardian who is a TEG member.
