Anthony Arone and Gabriel Ogden

Ahead of the mid-winter recess, we have two Tornadoes athletes being honored as our ‘Athlete of the Week.’ First up is Junior Anthony Arone. The varsity basketball player was nominated for the honor by head coach Matt Takeuchi who calls Arone a “key contributor to the team” due to his “leadership, tenacity, hustle and great defense.”

Coach Tak notes that Arone has recently found his “offensive game” and added some key baskets at critical moments. Arone continues to shine defensively, guarding the opposing point guard the entire length of the court in an attempt to disrupt the other team’s rhythm. No matter what assignment he is given, we always know that we can count on him to take it on with enthusiasm.”

Modified boys basketball player Gabriel Ogden is our second athlete of the week. Coach Jenna Park calls the eight grader a “positive and team player” who had “a great game against West Point even though it was a tough matchup and he played through some bumps and bruises.“

Congratulations Anthony and Gabriel!
