Mariah K

Congratulations to GGM STEM teacher Mariah Klimowich, who has been awarded a STEM Classroom Grant from the Orange & Rockland Utilities Education Advisory Council — for the sixth year in a row!

Mariah plans to use the grant to launch a hands-on fourth grade Solar Powered Community Project using the KELVIN Solar Energy House Lab. Students will build and power their own solar homes while learning about clean energy, energy efficiency, and sustainability. 💡🏘️

“I’m excited to receive this grant again and can’t wait to dive into the project with my students,” Klimowich said. “It’s such a great opportunity for them to be able to explore real-world science in a fun and meaningful way.”

TUFSD is proud to lead the way in STEM education as the first New York State school district to earn the National Certificate for STEM Excellence from the National Institute for STEM Education at both the elementary and high school levels.
