In today’s world, peace needs to become more than just a word. On September 21, 2021, the students and staff of George Grant Mason Elementary took part in an international art and literacy project.
For the 14th year, Tuxedo celebrated peace day including a program started by Jeff White, Tuxedo Superintendent and the new GGM Principal, Dolores Terlecky.
There were student reflections and a musical piece “Let there be Peace,” sung by the 4th and 5th grade, accompanied by high school students on musical instruments.
The ceremony ended with the planting of Pinwheels for Peace on a large white piece sign on the George F. Baker High School hill for all to see. It is hoped that this presentation of world peace resonates with the community!
