Last Thursday, several of our GFB students were officially inducted into the National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society! These students earned this honor by demonstrating the four core qualities of NHS: scholarship, service, leadership, and character.

Following the yearly tradition, Mr. Gary Heavner, Board of Education President and 30 veteran Assistant District Attorney, spoke to Ms. Jones’ Government class about their rights and responsibilities according to NYS and the United States Constitution. 🇺🇸

Throughout the week, students in Pre-K through 5th grade explored science, technology, engineering, and math through creative, inquiry-based activities. They designed custom STEM keychains, built and tested LEGO bridges and towers, experimented with ramps and motion, explored shape and structure engineering, and even dipped into early coding using Ozobots and Sphero Minis! 🖥️🤖📱

Global History 1 carried on the tradition of designing and creating Asia Projects. Students researched their topic and wrote historical fiction essays, which they presented to the class in seminar fashion. Stop by Mrs. Jones' room to see their creations!
During our Superintendent’s Conference Day, faculty and staff participated in the Stop the Bleed course, learning how to move from bystanders to lifesavers. This districtwide training taught participants how to recognize and control life-threatening bleeding through techniques such as applying direct pressure, wound packing, and using tourniquets. The course combined lecture, video instruction, and hands-on practice, and our faculty and staff engaged enthusiastically throughout the session. Each classroom has been provided with a Stop the Bleed kit in case of a bleeding emergency.
Want to be a rock star in Mrs. Rota’s 4th grade class? 🌟 Our very first rock star was noticed for being a positive leader, a kind friend, and a respectful classmate! You can earn it too by showing these awesome qualities.🪨🌟
Each week, a new rock star will be nominated by our 4th graders. Our elementary students were in for a treat at George F. Baker! 🎃 After the parade, our younger Tornadoes visited the high school, where our older students handed out lots of prizes and smiles. 🏆 It was so special to see everyone come together for this fun new tradition. Thank you to our amazing GFB staff and students for creating such a memorable day for our little ones! 💛🖤
Halloween Fun at the Promenade!
On Halloween, students from Interact Club brought some ghoulish fun to the residents of the Promenade! Together, they sang festive songs, created spooky arts and crafts, and shared plenty of smiles and laughter!
